For the 2008 fiscal year (October 1, 2007-September 30, 2008), the President has allotted 80,000 potential refugee admissions. The allocations have been divided this way:

- East Asia . . . . . . . . . 20,000
- Europe and Central Asia . . 3,000
- Latin America/Caribbean . . 3,000
- Near East/South Asia . . . .28,000
- Unallocated Reserve . . . . 10,000
